Yeah, no one cares about the swearing.

Brian Posehn is an obvious choice for a metal comedian.

Brian Posehn is the tall dorky guy with the deep voice who used to be one Just Shoot Me! He now looks like a member of Mastodon and spends a lot of time talking about metal.

I suggest you try and find a copy of [i]Nerd Rage[i/].

Mitch Hedburg does a pretty funny bit about band names. He mentions Obituary and Rigor Mortis.

Bill Hicks had a routine about Judas Priest and the absurdity of the whole notion of a band wanting to convince their fans to commit suicide.

If that Metal By Numbers video is any evidence, Posehn sucks.

Poseihn does suck quite a bit. The guy rambles on about how "screamo" or whateverthefuck is "false metal" while being a loyal fan of Slipknot.

Brewer's pretty funny. I like how he has enthusiasm for his music.

Youtube Brewer singing the Devil's Child to see a suprise duet with Rob Halford. The look on Brewer's face is classic when he see's Halford in the doorway  Lol

The Metal By Numbers thing just came off as the kind of stupid, shallow bullshit that someone who only liked metal in an "ironic" and/or passing interest would put out. It was very boorish and in poor taste in general.

Thank you for showing me this guy, haha. He's pretty damn funny. Patton Oswalt did some talking about 80's heavy metal, mainly the glam stuff. He didn't like it. :p

Brian Posehn is a huge fucking poseur. Screamo bands don't even call themselves metal, so I don't know why his fatass is labeling that shit false metal. And he listens to nu metal.

Thanks for introducing me to Steve Hughes by the way. Funny guy.

"Heavy Metal fans are buying Heavy Metal records, taking the records home, listening to the records and then blowing their heads off with shotguns? Where's the problem? That's an unemployment solution right there, folks! It's called natural selection.... Explain it to me. Heavy metal bands on trial because kids commit suicide, what is that about? Judas Priest on trial because my kid bought the records, and he listened to the lyrics, and he go into Satan... ALLALALALALALLALA! Well that's great. That sets a legal precedent. Does that mean I can sue Dan Fogelberg for making me into a pussy in the mid '70s, is that possible, HUH?"

Posehn stuff on metal is hardly indicative of the quality of the rest of his stuff, which is quite high.

Wow, watching more Henry Rollins videos and he is pretty talentless, unfunny, and downright stupid. He does stuff on Slayer too, just as bad as the Iron Maiden stuff.

I don't mind much of his stories. He's more spoken word than comedy, really, but his delivery is dry.

Yeah, that's the way I always saw it. I think he tries to make it a bit funnier with his over the top delivery but I really love his Lebanon and Pakistan ones.

The fact that you all don't already know Steve Hughes indicates to me that ALL of you need a complete metal re-education.

I wonder if that has anything to do with Leary stealing all of Hicks' material as well as his entire character.

In fairness to Dennis, while I'm aware of many "similar" bits the two comedians had, this is not one of them.

This was how Hicks' routine went, more or less (I don't remember it word for word)

Hicks (in a fake British accent):
"I'm fucking sick of it, just fucking sick of it. Playing in front of thousands of fans every night, the money, the cars, the mansions...blow jobs from dusk to dawn...I'm fucking tired of it all"
"But Nigel..." (note: this is what Hicks said, clearly he wasn't a Judas Priest fan), "what are we gonna do? We've got a big tour planned!"
"I know, I know...wait a minute...I've got it! Let's have all our fans...kill themselves! We'll put messages on our records that make all our fans kill themselves!"
(Hicks back in normal voice)
"Sure, makes total sense. Besides, we're talking about a couple of Judas Priest fans. What did we lose, a couple of gas station attendents? Not exactly a huge blow..."

As much as Hughes can back himself up with a credible history, I found his stuff pretty generic and dull.

Alex Agnew, Belgian comedian that talks about black and death metal, just check out the first link at 08:36 and the first minute or so from the second link, he talks in dutch, but his improvisation should put a smile on your face.

As ill informed and stereotypical Pablo Francisco's "interpretation" of death metal was, it still had me chuckling. Especially when he, imitating his girl friend, says "Shut up, this is serious!" after he mentions how funny the music is and when he mentions the jazzy bass.

I don't really mind when comics use stereotypes, in fact I find alot of the best jokes involve stereotyping of some kind. It's not the stereotype that's funny, it's the truth contained within.

Isn't Cannibal Corpse Jim Carrey's favourite band? (Not to mention they performed Hammer Smashed Face on one of the Ace Ventura Pet Detective movies).

I thought it was established that was just a rumor. In the press release regarding Jim Carrey's daughter marrying some metal singer, I remember hearing something along the lines that he had never heard of Cannibal Corpse before, and that he didn't care for/enjoy the band.
