I know I'm not the only who got fucked up by fucking "progress" in that new cars today come without proper CD players and many of you get stuck with hundreds if not thousands of your beloved CDs stuck in their racks without being able to enjoy them while on the road (the only leisure time for the working man to enjoy his CDs) and there are many cheap bullshit Car CD players on Amazon with terrible reviews (made in China and all that of course, time span of a couple of month and then die on you) and I seem to get lost within this jungle of nonsense as I'm sure many of you do to.

So could anybody explain to me like I'm 5 years old what's the best experience you have had with a portable, robust, skip free, long-lasting car CD player that can plug into the USB port and actually play my CDs in a good manner?

Is that the only option? And are all Cds need to be converted to MP3's in order to be played on the car media system? I understand that the portable CD players convert in real time the CD tracks to the playable mp3 format in order for them to be supported by the car system. That means that even if I plug in somehow a discman of sorts with RCA to USB cable, the car system will not be able to play the music tracks since a conversion to MP3 was not done? Am I right here?

Your assistance would be highly appreciated.

Hello Kovner1972, I have not had a portable cd player since the 90's and I don't bother with cds in the car but if I did I would buy from a local car stereo place or Crutchfield. https://www.crutchfield.com/g_462050/CD ... l?tp=72286

Seconding this - Crutchfield is the way to go. From my recollection their customer service is really good and they can recommend what you're looking for within the budget you have.

I didn't ask for car stereo. Just for a CD player compatible with the new cars' sound systems that play only MP3 formats and enable you to plug in a usb device, such as this one:

So why don't you buy that portable CD player you just posted?
